Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Properties.
A Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) residential or commercial property is run by Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.

Housing Choice Voucher (frequently referred to as Section 8)

- The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program assists low-income families, the senior, and the disabled to afford good, safe and hygienic housing in the personal market. Housing help is provided through HUD on behalf of the family or individual, so individuals can find their own housing. You can utilize an HCV to pay for all or part of the rent.

Eligibility: Public Housing is restricted to low-income households and people. A Public Housing Authority determines eligibility based on 1) yearly gross earnings, 2) whether you certify as elderly, an individual with impairments or as a family, and 3) U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.

To apply, call your regional Public Housing Authority. During the application process, a Public Housing Authority will gather information on household earnings, properties and household structure.
